For the weekend we all went to our separate families to get a taste of French life and allow our host family to show us things that they like to do. Last night when I arrived at my host family’s house I was greeted by their extended family; all together 13 people! We had a nice dinner and then talked about life in America. Today, after going into town in the morning, we drove to a 993 dated castle called “Castelnou”. It is very interesting and has wonderful views.
As my French gets better it becomes mentally taxing to switch back and forth between English and French. The full immersion is doing wonders already and I wish I could stay longer so that I could become fluent.

From my experience in Finland, language will come in waves. Be sure to listen a lot to conversations and don’t be afraid to ask how to say something. Also, don’t forget to give yourself mental breaks!
