For the second day with my host family I woke up, took a walk with my correspondent, and then had a big Easter supper. The supper consisted of anchovies, duck, and lamb among other things. The food I’ve been eating is very different from home and I don’t think my stomach agrees with it very well. I’ll make a food post later. After Easter supper we drove to one of the many castles in the region. This one was called “Ville Franche” and was built in the 14th century to provide an area free of rule from the French king. It was a nice little town with plenty of nice views. After we were done there we drove back and stopped at a few places to take pictures of the beautiful landscape. Then we went bowling with the rest of the students in the exchange. It was a fun day full of fun times and new experiences.

Love your posts!! It’s been great to read about your various adventures!! In Finland, I ate various new foods like octopus, raw fish, and fish egg paste. Try things twice, just to be sure….

I know anchovies take some getting used to, but it is clear your family is pulling out all the stops for you. Duck and lamb! Wow! Isn’t it special to be part of a family in a foreign land?
