Eleven students from York County high schools will host 11 students from Port-Vendres and Céret, France, from Oct. 17-23. The student exchange is sponsored by the schools in collaboration with Sister Cities Yorktown, which enjoys a relationship with Port-Vendres. The 2013 visit reciprocates a visit of York County students to France in 2012.

The French students arrive the evening of Oct. 17. They will visit their host’s school the next morning and have a tour of the Yorktown Victory Center in the afternoon. On Saturday, Oct. 19, both York County and their French guests will participate in Yorktown Day activities, including the parade.

Host families will treat their guests to excursions on Sunday, Oct. 20, with visits to their host’s school again on Monday, Oct. 21.

Tours of Jamestown and Williamsburg highlight activities of Oct. 22. An afternoon sail on the Alliance Schooner and a farewell dinner climax the exchange’s activities.

Sister Cities Yorktown is working closely with York County schools to make its relationship with Port-Vendres one that enhances cultural and educational opportunities for French teachers and students of York County.
