Sister Cities Yorktown honored members Shirley Estes and Deborah Marquardt Raper with the Quintilla Prize for Educational and Cultural Exchange at its semi-annual membership meeting on July 28. The prize, named for Antoinette and Simon Quintilla, who were instrumental in founding the sister city relationship between Yorktown and Port-Vendres, France, recognizes significant and sustained support and commitment to the organization and its goals. Estes served as president of Sister Cities Yorktown from 2007 to 2011 and now serves on the executive committee and the membership committee. Marquardt Raper served as vice-president during the same time and currently is a member of the public relations committee. Congratulations to both and thank you for your continued service!
