In spite of an April downpour, our inaugural French Market was a great success, drawing hundreds to the Ken Matthews Garden Center today. Vendors sold fresh produce, artisan cheeses, French chocolates and wine. Sister Cities Yorktown sponsored a silent auction and a marché puce (flea market). York County students  headed for France in September sold lavendar sachets to raise money for their trip. Several posters with photo collages of the real Saturday market in Port-Vendres, France, added an aire of authenticity. Look for the market again in spring 2013!
